The University of Medicine and Dentistry has a strong commitment to research. In fact, UMDNJ ranked in the top 100 research universities in the nation. Faculty members are recognized internationally for basic and translational research. This commitment is clearly reflected in the research facilities on the Stratford campus. The Science Center is equipped with state-of-the-art research tools including a radio isotope laboratory and new technology such as the latest electron microscopes. The Science Center renovated 8,000 square feet of existing space and added 21,000 square feet of new laboratory and support space.
