Overall Violent Crime Rates


During the period between 1996-2000, there has been a decline in the overall rate of violent crime arrests.

Newark and Camden had the highest violent crime arrest rates in New Jersey.

Men, and African-American men in particular, were disproportionately more likely to be arrested for violent crimes.
