Tragically,
the threat of violence is now woven into the fabric of our
culture. The need to understand, reduce and prevent violence
has never been greater. Families, school district staff, community
leaders, and policy makers must respond to the growing demand
for innovative approaches and meaningful solutions.
The Violence
Institute of New Jersey is prepared to meet these challenges
by linking policy makers, practitioners and the public to
existing bodies of research and best practice. From a well-informed
position, together, people can create effective programs that
promote safety and security.
The Violence
Institute has partnered with the University Behavioral HealthCare's
Office of Prevention Services and Research to offer a series
of training and technical assistance opportunities. These
offerings may be tailored to a variety of audiences, including
school and district staff, community-based organizations,
human service agencies, law enforcement and juvenile justice
personnel, parents and prevention coalitions.
