Knowing
a school district's needs is a critical first step toward
developing effective and sustainable prevention programming.
The Violence Institute has worked with school districts
to investigate their safe and drug-free status by providing
technical assistance in the administration of a survey on
violence, school safety, and substance use. Comprised of questions
taken from state and national surveys, the findings from this
survey assist school districts in determining what behaviors
occur in their district, and how their district compares with
the state and the nation. In its technical assistance capacity,
