Department of Medical Imaging Sciences
Vascular Technology Program

To Interested Students:

Thank you for your interest in the Vascular Technology Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Please review the enclosed links for information on the field and our program. Like most people, you probably have not heard of Vascular Technology. Our program prepares students in Vascular Ultrasound. Workers in the field are called Vascular Technologists or Vascular Sonographers. This is a growing field that needs many more ultrasound specialists than is currently available. Regionally and nationally, there are severe shortages of people trained in the diagnosis of vascular disease.

For more information on questions we have been asked.

Hopefully the information in these pages interests you enough to consider applying to the program. If so, the next step should be to contact me for a tour of one of our vascular laboratories. Most people need to have a first hand view of the clinical environment. We want to have you observe what we do and how we interact with patients. I'm also sure there are more practical discussions that you would like to discuss in person.

In the For More Information section you will find that the best way to contact me is unfortunately NOT by telephone but by email: arakict@umdnj.edu. I look forward to hearing from you.
