B.S. Allied Health Technologies

Students are able to earn a bachelor's degree through a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Technologies. This is a joint degree offered by UMDNJ-SHRP in cooperation with six New Jersey colleges and universities:

  • Georgian Court College, Lakewood
  • Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, Teaneck;
  • Felician College, Lodi;
  • New Jersey City University, Jersey City;
  • Ramapo College, Mahwah;
  • Rutgers University, Newark;
  • Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ

Students spend the first 3 years at one of the partner institutions, pursuing a liberal arts study, concentrating in biology. In their senior year, they enter UMDNJ-SHRP for the Vascular Technology concentration. The Vascular Technology component focuses the biological science base onto a specific clinical education.

Applicants are selected from or must be eligible for acceptance to one of the participating colleges or universities through which the degree will be jointly offered. Student advisement will direct the candidate through the major requirements at the participating institution, prior to entry into the professional phase. The Vascular Technology program track will typically be taken during the senior year.

Students applying for the bachelor degree track from outside the affiliate network may seek advisement through the Vascular Technology Program Director or advisors on individual campuses.

The Certificate Program

The Certificate program is for those interested in more immediate entry into a well-paying, highly-employable career in health care. The certificate is granted through the University of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Health Related Professions and provides the student all the rights and privileges of graduating from a nationally accredited program.  To be eligible, students must possess the minimum of an Associate’s degree. Students with a U.S. earned bachelor’s degree may be eligible for a second Bachelor’s degree.
