Requirements for Certificate Admission

The Vascular Technology Program is an upper division undergraduate program. This means that certificate candidates must have completed two years of college level coursework from an accredited institution of higher education. This may include the successful completion of a two year allied health program. The following courses must have been completed within the last five years:

  • Human Anatomy and Physiology with laboratory (8 cr)
  • College Algebra (3 cr)
  • Medical Terminology

Foreign educated applicants must submit a TOEFL score with a minimum score of 600, official transcripts from foreign institutions, and an acceptable translation of foreign transcripts.

CLINICAL AFFILIATIONS:

To provide clinical training, the Program has been fortunate to affiliate itself with the following Vascular Laboratories:

  • UMDNJ, University Hospital, Newark, NJ
  • East Orange VA Medical Center, East Orange, NJ
  • Saint Clare’s Hospitals, Denville, NJ
  • Saint Barnabas Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center, Livingston, NJ
  • Hackensack University Hospital, Hackensack, NJ
  • Christ Hospital, Jersey City, NJ
  • Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Newark,
  • Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ
  • Saint Michael's Medical Center, Newark, NJ

* These are approximate expenses. 1) Tuition costs have increased annually with the increase occurring between semesters. 2) Students without health insurance are required to purchase the UMDNJ Health plan coverage. 3) Tuition is increased by 50% for out of state residents.
