Within the University Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of the University Registrar provides leadership, guidance and support to faculty, administrators and students, and sets University policies in the areas of student records, registration, and the enrollment and employment of foreign nationals. This office also coordinates the work of the student records offices of the eight Schools of the University, and collaborates with other University and School offices with regard to student administrative affairs. It also serves as the University's official liaison to various U.S. government agencies for compliance with the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and other immigration matters.
In providing service and information to various constituencies, the Office of the University Registrar at UMDNJ is guided by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). FERPA provides many rights and protections to students of universities and colleges within the U.S. Full text of the UMDNJ policy on FERPA is available at this link: UMDNJ FERPA Policy
