Transferring To UMDNJ

If you are transferring to UMDNJ, you must complete a Transfer Form in addition to a Request for a Certificate of Eligibility I-20 form. You can complete the transfer recommendation form separately or as part of the Request for I-20 form (see page 9). The transfer recommendation form must be completed by your current institution.

Transfer of your SEVIS record must be initiated within sixty (60) days of completion of your current program or within 60 days of completion of your Optional Practical Training (OPT). You must begin your new program within five (5) months of completion of your current program or completion of OPT. Failure to comply with these deadlines will result in termination of your F-1 status.

TRANSFERS OF THE SEVIS RECORD MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN FIFTEEN (15) DAYS OF YOUR PROGRAM START DATE AS IT APPEARS ON THE FORM I-20.

Transfer students MUST check-in with International Services within 15 days of the start date on your UMDNJ I-20. Failure to do so will result in the termination of your SEVIS record and loss of immigration status.
