Biography
Leah Z. Owens taught students in the subject of English at Barringer High School in Newark for several years. She came to Newark through the Teach for America program. In addition to being a doctoral student in the Urban Systems program at Rutgers-Newark, Leah received a Master of Public Administration degree from Rutgers as well. She earned her B.A. in English from Duke University. Leah is from Poughkeepsie, New York but currently resides in Newark where she has become embedded in the community.
