Biography
Prior to entering the Urban Systems program, Kaili served as the Managing Director of Program for Teach for America in New Jersey, as well as serving on the charter team which opened a Teach for America site in Camden. Kaili began her education career at PS 28 in the South Bronx, NYC where she taught third and fifth grade students. In addition, Kaili has done educational consulting work for the Boys Club of New York, the DOME Project on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and the Panasonic Foundation.
Kaili is also an active member of the community. She is on the Duke University Black Alumni Connection National Board of Directors and is also the 2006 Class Representative on the Leadership New Jersey Graduate Organization Board. Kaili is a member of the Omicron Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
A graduate of Plainfield High School, Kaili holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies from the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University (c/o 2001) and a Master’s degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Kaili lives in Montclair.
