Caryn Yaacov

After receiving her BA in Sociology from Rutgers University, Caryn moved to Israel where worked in the field of public relations. She received three master degrees from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa: MSc in Environmental Engineering; MSc in Urban and Regional Planning; and ME (masters of engineering) in business. Caryn is now completing her dissertation in Urban Systems: “Dynamics of School Playground Use in Low-Income Neighborhoods: Four Case Studies from Newark, New Jersey.” She has presented her dissertation research at: the National American Planning Association Conference, the Annual New Jersey Planning Conference (in 2007) and the Active Living Research Annual Conference (in 2008). An article on earlier research she conducted on office design appeared in Environment and Behavior (2005). Caryn is a member of the Sigma Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society at NJIT.
