Michael Brown
Michael Brown is a development planner and teacher by profession. He completed a teaching diploma in Secondary Education in Mathematics and General Science at Mico Teachers’ College Jamaica, a bachelor of science degree in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, and a masters degree in Development and Planning at University College London, Bartlett School of Planning. Michael has taught mathematics at the secondary level and worked for six years as a planner/economist at the Planning Institute of Jamaica where he assisted in coordinating the Government of Jamaica’s Multi-sector Pre-investment Program and in managing the Jamaica Pre-Investment Program. Michael’s research interests include community development, environmental policy and planning, housing policy, and urban redevelopment. He is currently conducting dissertation research on the HUD’s HOPE VI public housing reform program in Camden, NJ
