Kaili Baucum

Kaili Baucum is currently working fulltime toward her PhD in Urban Education Policy. Prior to coming to Rutgers-Newark, Kaili served as the Managing Director of Program for Teach for America in New Jersey, as well as serving on the charter team which opened a Teach for America site in Camden, NJ. Kaili began her education career at PS 28 in the South Bronx, NYC where she taught third and fifth grade students. In addition, Kaili has done educational consulting work for the Boys Club of New York and the DOME Project on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Kaili is also an active member of the community. She is the Vice President of the New Horizons College Club Board of Directors - NHCC has become a staple in Plainfield, NJ and is committed to helping African American students successfully gain admission to college. In addition, Kaili is the Vice President of Operations for the Duke University Black Alumni Connection National Board of Directors. Kaili is also the 2006 Class Representative on the Leadership New Jersey Graduate Organization Board, and a member of the Omicron Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Montclair, NJ.

Kaili holds a Bachelor's degree from Duke University, a Master's degree from Teacher's College - Columbia University. Kaili lives in Montclair, New Jersey.
