Robin D. Wittenstein, EdD is the Acting President and Chief
Executive Officer of The University Hospital.
Robin D. Wittenstein has a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Doctorate of Education from the George Washington University. Dr. Wittenstein has more than 25 years experience in the health care industry, working in institutions that include small religious hospitals, large not-for-profit community hospitals, proprietary hospitals and large teaching facilities. During the course of her career, Dr. Wittenstein has been responsible for strategic planning, financial management, physician relations, service line leadership and overall hospital operations.
Through the years, Dr. Wittenstein has successfully worked to develop and implement strategic plans for these institutions, combining strong program development with a keen sense of community need to ensure patients received quality health care services while the institutions continued to prosper.
In addition to her work in hospitals, Dr. Wittenstein has been involved in both the post-acute phase of health care, managing a full spectrum of post-acute services for a large multi-hospital health system, as well as running the basic science, translational and clinical research division of this same health system.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Wittenstein has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Lymphatic Research Foundation, as a Board member of NYCLIX, a New York based clinical information exchange organization and currently serves as the Chair of the conflict of interest committee of BRANY, a large clinical research organization that handles clinical trials across the United States and Canada.
