"Myers-Briggs Personality Type Classification of Migrainous Women" by Carman Ciervo, DO, associate professor and acting chair, Family Medicine, Michael Gallagher, DO, professor and vice dean, Robert Steer, EdD, adjunct professor, and Loretta Mueller, DO, all in Family Medicine,was published in Headache Quarterly, Vol 9, 1998.
Professional Activities: Rocco Carsia, PhD, associate professor, Cell Biology, presented "Models to Elucidate the Regulation of Adrenal Cell Death" at the VIII Adrenal Cortex Conference, held in Orford, Quebec. Edmund Erde, PhD, professor, Family Medicine, presented "Person, Self and Identity: A Metaphysical Deepening of Dilemmas in Medicine" at the International Academy of Law and Mental Health Pre-Conference Congros Policier on Personhood, held in Paris. Stephen M. Scheinthal, DO, assistant professor of clinical psychiatry, is principal investigator of "Drug Treatment of Depression in the Nursing Home Aged," sponsored by National Institutes of Mental Health and the University of Pennsylvania . Theresa Scholl, PhD, associate professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology, presented "Folic Acid: Influence on the Outcome of Pregnancy" at the International Symposium on Maternal Nutrition, New Developments and Implications, held in Paris.
Honors: Susan Muller-Weeks, PhD, Molecular Biology, was awarded an NIH Academic Research Enhancement Award for her project,"Peripherin/rds Mutations and Retinal Degeneration." Richard Tucker, DO, clinical associate professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology, has been named president of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Grants: Carl Hock, PhD, acting assistant dean for research, principal investigator, and Peitan Liu, PhD, adjunct instructor, Bernd Spur, PhD, adjunct assistant professor, and Patrick Y-K Wong, PhD, all in Cell Biology, were awarded a grant for $76, 875 from the American Heart Association for the project"Effect of Dietary Lipid on the Production of Nitric Oxide and Reactive Oxygen Species in Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion."

"Nutritional Aspects of Health and Disease," co-authored by Riva Touger-Decker, PhD, RD, assistant professor, Oral Pathology, Biology and Diagnostic Sciences, was in the seventh edition of Egan's Fundamentals of Respiratory Care.
Professional Activities: Daniel Fine, DMD, professor, Dental Research Center, presented "The Effects of Listerine Antiseptic on Interproximal Plaque Streptococcus Mutans Levels," at the International Association of Dental Research Symposium in Nice, France. Mayra Mesa, DMD, professor, Oral Pathology, Biology & Diagnostic Sciences, presented"Clear Cell Odontogenic Carcinoma: Report of a Case and Review of the Literature" at the Academy of Oral Pathology meeting in Capetown, South Africa. Surendra Singh, DDS, professor, Periodontics, presented "Guided Tissue Regeneration" and "Chemotherapy of Periodontal Disease" to participants attending the Indian Institute of Continuing Education and Research in Bombay.
Grants: The Delta Endowment Association of New Jersey, Inc., and its Joseph Pollack Memorial Scholarship Fund has donated $235,000 for merit scholarships for dental students who reside in New Jersey.
