Grants:

Mary Boland, MSN, RN, FAAN, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Professor of Nursing, received a three-year, $600,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services for "Healthcare Connections-Targeted Outreach to HIV-infected Persons." Carolyn Keith Burr, Ed D, RN, associate director, National Pediatric and Family HIV Resources Center, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center, received a three-year, $520,000 grant from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for "Targeted Training of Health Care Providers to Reduce Perinatal HIV Transmission."

Professional Activities:

Elaine Gross, RN, MS, CNS-C, nurse educator, National Pediatric and Family HIV Resources Center, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center, presented "HIV Infection in Children in the Child Care and School Setting" at the Annual Conference of the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children.

Publications:

"Caring for the Child and Family with HIV Disease," by Mary Boland, MSN, RN, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Professor of Nursing, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center, was in The Pediatric Clinics of North America HIV/AIDS in Infants, Children and Adolescents, Vol. 47, No.1, February 2000.

"Continuum of Palliative Care: Lessons from Caring for Children Infected with HIV-1," by Lynn Czarniecki, MSN, RNC, advanced practice nurse, and James Oleske, MD, MPH, professor, Pediatrics, director, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases, and medical director, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center, was in Lancet, Vol. 354, October 1999.
