Allen W. Roth, 48, doesn't remember anything about the moment of impact with another car at a Newark intersection.

But the scars on his body and the accounts from the trauma medical team at UMDNJ-University Hospital tell his story: how the collision left him trapped and dying inside his 1990 black Honda Prelude at about 10:30 am on May 14, 1997.
