New Chairman of UMDNJ Board of Trustees
Under his leadership, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has established nationally recognized centers of excellence and developed statewide recognition of the clinical, educational, research and community outreach missions of an academic health center. Holzberg is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Administrative Board of the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Teaching Hospitals. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the University Health System of New Jersey and a founder and past president of the National Association of Community Health Care Centers and the New York Association of Ambulatory Care Centers. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Anti-Defamation Leagues Torch of Liberty, the Distinguished Service Award of the Melvin H. Motolinsky Research Foundation, The Hemophilia Association Humanitarian of the Year and the State of Israel Bonds Israel Peace Medal. Holzberg was recently awarded the Medical Executive Award by the New Jersey Academy of Medicine. He is an adjunct associate professor at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Department of Environmental and Community Medicine and has been a member of the adjunct faculty of New York University and Manhattan College. Previously, Holzberg was President and Chief Executive Officer of Jersey City Medical Center, and Senior Vice President of Administration at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. A former member of the United States Marine Corps, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance, and an MBA from the Bernard Baruch School of the City University of New York. |
