May 9 was a day of celebration and reflection as UMDNJ and the UMDNJ-Board of Concerned Citizens marked this year’s annual Harmony Day. The event represented an expansion of Harmony Day activities and the conclusion of the University’s year-long commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Newark Rebellion. Activities showcased the relationship UMDNJ has forged with its Newark neighbors throughout the decades, on and off campus, with cultural exhibits, health screenings and various cuisines from around the world. The event also provided information on employment opportunities, and educational and health care resources at UMDNJ.
