UMDNJ's Visual Identity Program
Summary
- The Visual Identity Program advances the mission of the University by underscoring the concept that UMDNJ is one university comprised of many schools and unit.
- Every school and unit should adhere to the visual identity program both for print and web communications.
- The official logo as outlined in logo guidelines must appear in all print and web communications and conform to size, font and color guidelines.
- A letter from the University President will be included in all annual reports prepared by the schools and units.
- Since a proliferation of individual logos undermines the goals of a visual identity program, after February 1, 2005, no entity within the University may have its own logo. Logos in existence are grandfathered but must appear in tandem with the UMDNJ logo.
- All University entities embarking on development or redesign of web sites should consult first with Digital Media Services.
- Templates available through Digital Media Services have been developed for University entities developing new web sites or redesigning existing ones.
- Branding bars are available through Digital Media Services for application at the top of currently existing web sites to bring them into compliance with the visual identity program.
- Each major web site must identify a web content coordinator, who is responsible for creating, maintaining and updating content and for adherence to University policies. Content management tools have been purchased by the University and training will begin within the next several months.
- The Department of University Affairs will answer questions regarding the application of the visual identity program.
