Logo Guide

Introduction

The University unveiled a new logo in 2000. A university-wide committee established guidelines for the redesign that included using all the initials, since most people call the school UMDNJ. The group also decided the symbol should not only spell out who we are, but also reflect what we are. In addition, we were looking for an image that would project an aura of academic tradition. It was no small task. More than 120 members of the UMDNJ community directly participated in the year-long process.

The new logo represents three important aspects of our multiple mission: a book for education, a flask for research, and a stylized caduceus for the healing arts.

The new identity program includes the new official UMDNJ logo, a brandmark emblem, and coordinated logos for each of the schools. Here you will find guidelines for their usage as well as downloadable versions of the logo. You may download these digital assets when appropriate and direct outside vendors to this page for logo samples.

Camera-Ready Hard Copy

If you require a camera-ready logo in hard copy, you will find pdf files that you can print out at http://www-port.umdnj.edu/umcweb/logoweb/specifications/schools.htm. If you would like to have copies printed out for you, or you have technical questions, please contact UMDNJ Digital Media Services at 973 972-5488. There will be a minimal charge for printed copies. These are the only printed copies that are officially approved.
