In recognition of National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Month, The University Hospital collaborated with the Sharing Network to emphasize the on-going need for organ donors. Fliers highlighting this need were posted throughout the hospital as well as on the UH website.

As a result, Sharing Network volunteers recruited 22 organ donors during a sign-up day in the hospital’s lobby and Garden Café.

Heart transplant recipient Robert Herron is a volunteer for The Sharing Network.
He received his new heart in 1998 and is devoted to educating others about
the need for organ donors.
