Compliance Education (complete instructions)

Launched on March 15, 2004, this is a mandatory annual education program, which all employees must take to keep current on Compliance issues and learn how to report [compliance-related] concerns to the Compliance Office.

HIPAA – Privacy: University Hospital Focus Training (Restricted)
HIPAA Privacy Training was launched on March 2003. This training is required by the government and takes approximately 1½ hours to complete. Unfortunately, many employees selected the UMDNJ HIPAA course registration link rather than University Hospital Focus Training (Restricted). To take the required training, please follow the instructions below:

1- Log in the following link: (copy the link as one string to your browser if it doesn't opens up for you) www.umdnj.edu/webctweb/

2 - Click on "Log onto Webct" and enter your WEBCT ID and password. If you don’t have one, please contact IST at 3-3200.

3 - Under the Institutional Bookmarks section select: “University Hospital Focus Training (Restricted)” to start your training. (For the purpose of this training, please use the last four digits of your social security number as your password--even if you have changed it for the UMDNJ Web Training site.)

EMTALA (complete instructions)
Known as the Anti-dumping Law, EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act) was launched on June 15, 2004. This law was established by the government in 1986 to ensure public access to emergency services regardless of an individual's ability to pay. Due to the revision of EMTALA in 2003, the Compliance Office has updated the EMTALA education course.
