Wynan, affectionately known as “Tyrone”, is a behavioral health aide who regularly goes above and beyond to comfort and support his patients. Renowned throughout the hospital community, he is particularly sensitive and helpful to the patients who are disorganized in thought and unpredictable in behavior. Most recently, a distraught and despondent patient attempted to harm herself. While doing observation rounds, Tyrone intervened and rescued the patient from injury. Tyrone's managers proudly state that he is an asset to the G-Yellow Team and deserves Five Star recognition.

Patricia has shown time and again her ability to excel at all tasks with minimal supervision. She has a proactive approach and positive attitude that distinguish her as a leader on H-Green. Patricia is always happy to mentor those around her. Because of this trait, she has been appointed to educate and guide all the new nursing assistants as well as those who need a little extra help in performing their jobs more effectively.

Haitham is a dedicated physician who has been instrumental in the development of The University Hospital Stroke Program. He has spent countless hours at stroke screening events, interviewing participants and informing them about the risk of cardiovascular disease. Haitham also organized an unprecedented Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound Screening Process to detect intracranial atherosclerotic disease in high risk individuals. Patients often state that under Haitham's care, they have committed themselves to making more positive changes in their own lives to reduce the chances of stroke.

Recently Perpetual and Clara were charged with the care of a dying patient. The patient's family was extremely touched by each nurses ability to be so gentle, compassionate, and personally involved. The support and strength offered by Perpetual and Clara during this difficult time will be forever remembered and appreciated by the family and staff.

It's no wonder that Evelyn has been a Five Star winner several times in the past. Her customer service is top notch as are her written and verbal communication skills. Recently, one of the attending physicians praised Evelyn for her unique ability to prepare, organize and streamline patient charts and forms. Evelyn's care and precision in chart preparation, save the physician time and ultimately, contribute to improved patient care. Physicians and staff truly appreciate her many contributions to the unit.

Luel is a kind and compassionate person who focuses intently on the patient's physical and emotional needs. He will do whatever is necessary to increase a patient's comfort and relieve their stress. Luel never hesitates to spend extra time with a patient, even if it is just to hold their hand or offer a few comforting words. Many patients have written letters about Luel stating that his care truly made a difference to them. Staff also report that it is Luel's calm and caring attitude that contribute to the high level of patient satisfaction in their unit.
