VEHICLE SERVICING

All UMDNJ vehicles are on a 6–month/6,000 miles Preventive Maintenance/Safety Service program; this will be for all departmental vehicles except for EMS/Public Safety (their vehicles are running 24/7). Since the quality of oil has been approved by initiating synthetics, engines run cooler and cleaner. Logistical Services also recommends that your staff periodically checks fluid levels and tire pressures. The vehicles are inspected by one of our highly qualified ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified Technicians. Any items requiring repair(s) are then handled In–house for vehicles located on the Newark campus. For vehicles located on other campuses Transportation Services has contracted with State Contract repair facilities that follow our strict vehicle repair procedures and report their findings directly to our department. All of our vehicles are inspected according to NJDMV procedures and service data is stored on our LAN system for future reference.
