Clinical Care Resources

This quick drug-drug interaction checker is based on The Medical Letter's Handbook of Adverse Drug Interactions. Many drugs can be located by brand or generic name and added to a user's list of drugs for interaction look up. Interactions on up to 12 drugs can be found at one time. Some herbal products and/or dietary supplements such as ginseng are included in the program's index of searchable drugs, but many others such as saw palmetto are absent from the program index and therefore users can not locate drug interactions for those substances.

This database from the National Library of Medicine gives the public, healthcare professionals, and researchers a gateway to current, accurate and understandable drug information from the National Library of Medicine and other key government agencies. More than 12,000 drug records are available for searching. The search interface is straightforward, requiring only a drug name as a search term, and successful searching is enhanced by the assistance of a spellchecker. Links to the following resources contribute to the search results: MedlinePlus®, AIDSinfo®, Medline/PubMed®, LactMed, HSDB®, Dietary Supplements Labels Database, TOXLINE®, DailyMed®, ClinicalTrials.gov, PubChem, NIAID Anti-HIV/OI Database, ChemIDplus®, Drugs@FDA, DEA, and USA.gov.
