Educational Services offered by the Health Sciences Library
Library staff provide training on a wide variety of topics. Individual and group sessions may be scheduled and training on any topic can be easily integrated into a school’s curriculum or a specific course. Librarians are available to conduct training during the week, between 9am and 9pm. The selected courses listed below provide an overview of topics for which training can be scheduled. | Call it “Evidence Based Nursing Practice” or “Evidence Based Medicine,” the principles are the same for all health-related professions. Professions in nursing, medicine, physical therapy, psychology, and social work are using EBHC to provide more effective patient care. This course provides an overview of what EBHC means to clinical practice and research and the resources that the library has available for specific disciplines. | Video Tutorials: |
| This class will get you started in effectively using Excel 2007. In this class you will learn how Excel 2007 differs from older versions and receive an introduction to the essential elements of creating a useful spreadsheet. | Learn the basics of this powerful bibliographic management program. Attendees will learn how to enter references, import references from Ovid and other databases, work with figures and charts, change publication styles, and insert references into a paper. | A web-based bibliographic program that complements the desktop version offers users access to the same basic functionality of the program. Learn how to import references from the Ovid databases and the ISI Web of Knowledge, and organize references into groups. Also learn to insert references in the correct format into Word documents, and transfer references. | Course Materials:
