Health Science Careers: Pre-College
Curriculum
Academic Year Program consists of comprehensive academic sessions for twenty(20) weeks after school and Saturday. Summer Program consists of intensive academic instruction for five(5) consecutive weeks. Program focus is on math and science skill development; written and oral communication; counseling, leadership development, achievement and career exploration. Academic | Art | Health Sciences | | Biology | Mathematics | | Chemistry | Reading | | Computer Literacy | Science | | Engineering | Study Skills | | English | Test-Talking Skills | Career Orientation Field trips to science and chemical laboratories, hospitals, chemical plants, and nuclear facilities, Career exploration in-school activities and in actual work settings, Special emphasis is on minority professionals as role models in the fields explored. Parent Support Group Organization of parents who attend workshops and seminars designed to address their concerns. Topics include Parenting, Teen Sexuality, Computer Literacy, Achievement Motivation, and Methods for assisting their child develop good study habits. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES *NBA Basketball Games * Basketball League *Bowling *Chess Club *Self-Defense Class * Music group *Picnic Outings * Golf Club
