Directions to UMDNJ Physician
Assistant Program NOTE: PA Building is physically located behind the
University Behavioral HealthCare Building., 671 Hoes Lane, Piscataway)
( NOTE: When coming from Newark Airport,
follow directions for NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE from northern NJ.)
ROUTE 1 from southern NJ. Take Route 1 North toward New
Brunswick to Route 18. Take Route 18 North for 3 miles (just after you cross
over Raritan River). Stay in right lane. You will see the sign that reads
River Road, Highland Park, Piscataway - Right Lane. Take the jug handle onto
River Road and turn right onto River Road. Take River Road for 1 mile to third
light (Hoes Lane West). Turn right at Hoes Lane West.*
NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE from southern NJ. Take Exit 9. Bear
to far right as you approach toll booths. Take Route 18
North toward New Brunswick. Stay on 18 North for 3-1/2 miles (just after you
cross over Raritan River). Stay in right lane. You will see the sign that
reads River Road, Highland Park, Piscataway - Right Lane. Take the jug handle
onto River Road and turn right onto River Road. Take River Road for 1 mile
to third light (Hoes Lane West). Turn right at Hoes Lane West.*
NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE from northern NJ. Take Exit 10. Bear
left as you approach toll booths. Follow signs for I-287
North. Take 287 North for 9 miles to Exit 9 -River Road/Highland
Park (this is the second Highland Park exit). Exit here and at the
end of the ramp turn left onto River Road toward Highland
Park. Take River Road for 2-1/2 miles to fourth light (Hoes Lane West). Turn
left at Hoes Lane West.*
GARDEN STATE PARKWAY from southern NJ. Take Exit 127.
Follow signs for I-287 North. Take 287 North for 11 miles to Exit
9 -River Road-Highland Park (this is the second Highland
Park exit). Exit here and at the end of the ramp, turn left
onto River Road toward Highland Park. Take River Road for 2-1/2 miles to fourth
light (Hoes Lane West). Turn left at Hoes Lane West.*
GARDEN STATE PARKWAY from northern NJ. Take Exit 130 onto
Route 1 South. Take Route 1 South for 2-1/2 miles to I-287 North. Take 287
North for 8 miles to Exit 9 -River Road/Highland Park (this
is the second Highland Park exit). Exit here and at the end of the
ramp, turn left onto River Road toward Highland Park. Take
River Road for 2-1/2 miles to fourth light (Hoes Lane West). Turn left
at Hoes Lane West.*
ROUTE 22 from east or west / INTERSTATE 287 from northern NJ.
Take I-287 South to Exit 9 -Highland Park/Bound Brook (this
is just after the New Brunswick exit). Exit here and bear right
onto River Road toward Highland Park. Take River Road for 2-1/2 miles to third
light (Hoes Lane West). Turn left at Hoes Lane West.*
*Take Hoes Lane West for 3/4 mile until you see parking lots on both sides
of street. Park in last UMDNJ parking lot on left - marked Lot B. ( Note: If
you have a parking decal, park in an unmetered space - hang the decal from rearview
mirror. If you do not have a decal, park in a metered space to the right as
you enter lot - 25¢ per 15 minutes.) Walk across Hoes Lane - take
sidewalk straight ahead toward the circle and cross to the right of the circle
and use the steps going up to the sidewalk of Parking Lot C. Turn left on the
sidewalk and proceed up the sidewalk toward the statue of Hippocrates until
you reach the main entrance (left of the statue) of the Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School. Enter the school through the glass doors and walk straight ahead
and out of the second set of glass doors. Follow the sidewalk to your right and make a left either at the first or second sidewalk.
Walk toward the one-story building on your right which is the Physician Assistant
Building.
