Applications
The application and admissions process is handled
through the Graduate Admissions Office of Rutgers
University, Camden Campus. The Rutgers application
form can be obtained directly from the Rutgers
web site (http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu).
On-line application is required. Forms may be
downloaded at http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/forms.shtml.
Supporting documents should be sent directly
to the PT Program.

Application Process Summary
Applicants must self-manage their applications
to assure receipt of all required credentials
and documents.
The program accepts one class of full-time
students each year.
Please follow these instructions:
1. All applications must be completed online
via the Office
of Graduate and Professional Admissions, Rutgers
– The State University of New Jersey.
2. Read all application materials thoroughly
and fill in the application forms completely.
You may download instructions and admission

You may wish to download the forms to draft
prior to submission.
3. All applications must be accompanied by
a non-refundable application fee payable to
Rutgers University . A credit card payment
form can be found at http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/forms.shtml.
4. Submit two official transcripts of all
post-secondary (after high school) education
bearing the signature of the registrar and
the seal of the institution to the Doctor of Physical
Therapy Program in Stratford. If you registrar
will only send transcripts directly to the
Rutgers University Admissions Office, the
transcripts should be mailed to the Office
of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions,
Rutgers University, 406 Penn St., Camden,
NJ 08102-1499, (856) 225 - 6104. In this case,
we will process them separately however you
should send a student copy of the transcript
to the Physical Therapy Program along with
your other supporting documents.
5. Send official GRE scores, general examination
only to Rutgers Graduate School , Camden ,
Code 2092. Submit a copy of your student score
report directly to the Physical Therapy Program
in Stratford along with your other supporting
documents.
6. Complete the Prerequisites
Verification Form (pdf) to document all
prerequisite courses and calculate your overall
grade point average (GPA). Evidence that all
program prerequisite courses have been or
will be completed prior to the beginning of
classes is required. Submit a copy of this
form directly to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
in Stratford along with your other supporting
documents. Do not include grades or credits
for courses that are in progress or have yet
to be completed and omit these when computing
your grade point averages.
7. You may elect to submit your personal
statement on-line with your application or
as a hard copy to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
in Stratford along with your supporting documents.
The personal statement is limited to two pages
(one-sided). Be sure to answer the
questions outlined in the program brochure
and admissions criteria. Submit a copy of
your personal statement directly to the Physical
Therapy Program in Stratford along with your
other supporting documents.
8. Electronic submission of recommendation
letters is encouraged as part of the application
process. Click

online submission of recommendation letters.
Three recommendation letters are required:
one must be from a licensed physical therapist
and one must be an academic letter of reference.
If electing to submit recommendation letters
in hard copy form, send the letter
of recommendation form (pdf) to those
individuals from whom you are requesting a
letter of recommendation. Recommendation letters
must be received in a sealed envelope signed
across the seal by the individual recommending
the applicant. Recommendation letters should
be sent to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in
Stratford along with your other supporting
documentation.
9. Submit your Physical Therapy Experience
Form (created by the applicant) with
your supporting documentation to provide evidence
that the physical therapy experience admission
criteria have been met.
10. Send a copy of your curriculum vitae
or resume to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
in Stratford along with your other supporting
documentation.

The following is a summary list of all supporting
documentation as outlined above:
Two official transcripts of all
post-secondary education
Official results of the Graduate
Record Examination (general test)
Three letters of recommendation
including one from a physical therapist and
one from a college professor.
Copy of your typed personal statement
(original submitted online) explaining the applicants
interest in physical therapy, reasons for applying
to our PT Program, personal characteristics,
participation in community service activities,
and professional goals (maximum of two pages)
Completed Prerequisite
Verification Form (doc).
Resume of Curriculum Vitae
Typed list entitled “Physical
Therapy Experience Form”. This should
contain the name of the facility, supervisor's
name and contact information, type of facility,
number of hours, and brief description of experience
and responsibilities.
Foreign Applicants Only:
Results of the Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and English translation
of course titles and credit conversion. A course-by-course
report is required.

Application Deadline
Admissions are done on a rolling admissions
basis. Completed Application will be evaluated
in the order in which they are received. Priority
is given to applications received by December
15. Applications will not be assessed until
all materials are received. Applications from
foreign applicants must be received by
February 1st in order to be considered.
Reapplication
If you applied to the program in the past and
wish to reapply, a new application form and
all supporting documents must be resubmitted
each time you wish to reapply. Applicants are
encouraged to document how the intervening
year(s) was/were spent in preparing for admission
to the program.
Foreign Applicants
Foreign applicants are required to take the
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
if English is not their native language. Satisfactory
English proficiency is a prerequisite for graduate
study. A minimal score of 575 on the written
examination, 233 on the computer-based examination,
or 90-91 on the internet version is required.

Nonimmigrant applicants must present evidence
of adequate financial resources.
The University may deny admission to nonimmigrant
students for lack of English proficiency, lack
of financial support, or because of improper
visa status.
Applications from foreign applicants must be
received by February 1.
Transcripts of all course work must include
English translations of course titles and credit
conversion to the American system.
