Program Description
The Graduate Certificate in Aging Program consists of 15 credits: 9 credits of interdisciplinary geriatric core coursework and 6 credits of specialized coursework in either geriatric physical therapy or nutrition. The entire program is offered online and is available during the regular fall, spring and summer semesters schedule of the University.
Courses are designed to use interactive educational tools such as case studies, simulated patient scenarios, clinical pathways models, videotapes of specific geriatric assessment techniques, and online asynchronous and synchronous discussions. Course content is enhanced with textbooks, scientific and professional articles, and information from the Internet.
Geared initially for Registered Dietitians and Licensed Physical Therapists, the Online Graduate Certificate in Aging program is expanding to include multiple health care disciplines.
