Admission Requirements

All individuals applying to the certificate must possess the following:

  1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in or entry level degree appropriate for a student’s health professions discipline
  2. License, certification or registration in one’s respective health care field
  3. Entry level skill sets appropriate to their discipline (documented by providing proof of current license or registration)
  4. Practicing in the respective field of dietetics or physical therapy
  5. A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience working with the older adult population

 

Application

Application to the online Graduate Certificate in Aging occurs through the UMDNJ-Center for Advanced and Continuing Education.

To apply to the Certificate Program:

  1. Complete the UMDNJ-CACE “Certificate of Study Application Form” and submit all applicable fees.  The application can be downloaded on the CACE site at https://registration.umdnj.edu/~reg/appcert/
  2. Submit official transcripts of your undergraduate and graduate degrees to the UMDNJ-CACE.
  3. Submit copies of your Registered Dietitian credential or Physical Therapy license to the UMDNJ-CACE.
  4. For international applications, request that an official copy of an evaluation of the international transcript and official TOEFL test scores be sent to the UMDNJ-CACE.  Only cores of 79/80 or greater on the Internet exam, 213 or greater on the computer based exam, or 550 or greater on the paper-based exam will be accepted.
