I. PURPOSE
This policy establishes the number of graduate level courses that may be taken by undergraduate students and the number of 4000 level courses that may be taken by graduate students.
II. ACCOUNTABILITY
The Program Director is responsible for this policy.
III. POLICY
Undergraduates, nearing completion of a baccalaureate degree, may normally take up to six credits of 5000 or 6000 level courses toward their undergraduate degree provided they have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and have received preapproval from the Program Director. Programs with approved curricula exceeding this limit are exempt from this policy.
If a Program’s policies permit, students may take up to six credits of 4000 level courses and apply them toward the graduate degree while matriculated as a graduate student provided: 1) the courses were not prerequisite for admission to the graduate program and 2) pre-approval is granted by the Program Director.
