CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

HEALTH CARE INFORMATICS CERTIFICATE

Students with baccalaureate degree in any field of the health sciences or students already enrolled in any of the graduate programs offered by UMDNJ can enroll as certificate students. Students successfully completing required 12 credits in the program are awarded a Certificate in Health Care Informatics. Recommended course work for the Health Care Informatics Certificate students includes:

POST-DOCTORAL CERTIFICATE

The main goal of this option is to meet the urgent training needs of practicing physicians, dentists, other health professionals, and health professions faculty in multiple uses of computers and information technologies. Contents and applications presented under this option range from simple/basic to quite sophisticated uses of computers and information technologies integrated in medical and healthcare settings. Students enrolled in post-doctoral certificate option are also eligible to receive continuing education credits.

NON-DEGREE STATUS

Students with baccalaureate degrees who do not plan to seek the Master of Science degree may request permission to enroll as special students. Special students are allowed to take up to 12 credits in the Master's Program. Permission to take courses is contingent upon fulfillment of the specific course prerequisites, availability of spaces, and approval of the Program Director. Special students may apply for matriculated status in the Program after demonstrating capability to obtaining the MS degree in Biomedical Informatics.
