Hospital University Hospital is a 507 bed facility and is the
main teaching hospital for the New Jersey Medical School. The Department of
Medicine has 150 beds with adjacent offices and laboratories. An active primary care group
of 8 physicians admits patients and accepts transfers from the housestaff to ensure that
the number and mix of patients is optimal for education on the housestaff services.

Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center - East Orange
With 570 beds, this hospital is one of the larger
Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in the country and serves an estimated population of
almost 1 million. It is the only Department of Veterans Affairs tertiary care facility in
New Jersey. A full range of general and subspecialty services are provided to this special
clientele.
