Dr. Stephen R. Baker
Professor and Chairperson of Radiology
Dr. Baker completed a residency in radiology at Albert Einstein College
of Medicine. He also served as Acting Chairman of Radiology before coming
to New Jersey Medical School in1990. Dr. Baker's research interests include
radiology management, emergency radiology, and abdominal radiology. He
is considered by many the world's authority in the diagnosis of the plain
film of the abdomen.
Dr. Kyunghee Cho
Professor - Chief of Body Imaging
Dr. Cho completed her residency in radiology at Albert Einstein College
of Medicine. She is an experienced gastrointestinal radiologist with a
strong interest in plain films, barium studies, helical CT and advanced
techniques in abdominal MRl. Dr. Cho is internationally prominent in all
of these areas.
Dr. Helene Hill
Professor - Radiation Biology
Dr Hill received a Ph.D. at the University of Colorado and has had a
long and successful career as a bench researcher. Her principal area of
interest is the biological effects of photoactivation.
Dr. Roger Howell
Professor - Radiation Physics
Dr. Howell received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Massachusetts.
His research interests include radiation dosimetry, the biological effects
of radionuclides on the bone marrow and radioimmunotherapy.
Dr. Ronald Wachsberg
Professor - Chief of Ultrasonography
Dr. Wachsberg completed a residency at Stony Brook followed by a fellowship
in Body Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Wachsberg's
research interest include a concentration in ultrasonography of the biliary
tract.
Dr. Leo Wolansky
Professor - Neuroradiology
Dr. Wolansky completed a residency at Lenox Hill Hospital followed by
a fellowship in neuroradiology at Yale University Medical College. Dr.
Wolansky has multiple interests in neuroradiology with a special interest
in multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Marcia Blacksin
Associate Professor - Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology
Dr. Blacksin completed her fellowship training at The Hospital for Special
Surgery, following a radiology residency at New York Medical College. She
has a strong interest in trauma and general orthopedic radiology.
Dr. Jutta Greweldinger
Associate Professor - Mammography
Dr. Greweldinger is a graduate of the residency program at Albert Einstein
College of Medicine. She is a renowned mammographer with thirty years experience
in the field.
Dr. Huey Jen Lee
Associate Professor - Chief of Neuroradiology
Dr. Lee completed his neuroradiology training at Beth Israel Medical
Center and New York Medical College. Dr. Lee is particularly interested
in ENT radiology.
Dr. Pierre Maldjian
Associate Professor - Director of Radiology East Orange VA Medical
Center
Dr. Maldjian joined the faculty after completing a residency at St.
Barnabas Medical Center and then a body imaging fellowship at the University
of Pennsylvania. Dr. Maldjian is experienced in the spectrum of modalities
employed in thoracic imaging.
Dr. Marc Simmons
Associate Professor - Chief of Urinary and Gender Specific Radiology
Dr. Simmons completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine followed by a fellowship in body imaging at
the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Simmons is interested
primarily in radiology of the kidneys and prostate gland.
Dr. Joy Anderson
Assistant Professor - Radiation Oncology
Dr. Anderson is a graduate of UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. She joined
the Radiation Oncology Department here after completing a residency and
fellowship in radiation oncology at Methodist Hospital in New York. Dr.
Anderson's areas of interest include the radiotherapeutic treatment of
gynecologic malignancies and the application of both low and high dose
rate brachytherapy for treating cancer.
Dr. Philip Bahramipour
Assistant Professor - Chief of Interventional Radiology
Dr. Bahramipour completed his radiology residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey
Medical School and joined the radiology faculty at his alma mater after
completing an interventional radiology fellowship at the New York Hospital-Cornell
Medical Center. Dr. Bahramipour's interests include interventional liver
and biliary studies and the percutaneous placement of indwelling ports.
Dr. Alison Barone
Assistant Professor - Interventional Radiology
Dr. Barone joined UMDNJ in July 1999. She completed her radiology residency
as well as fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology
at Beth Israel Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She
is a graduate of Mt. Sinai Medical School.
Dr. Delilah M. Burrowes
Assistant Professor - Neuroradiology
Dr. Burrowes is a graduate of Meharry Medical College and pursued a
residency in radiology at Harlem Hospital Center. She completed fellowships
in neuroradiology at Northwestern Medical School and pediatric neuroradiology
at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Charles Cathcart
Assistant Professor - Director, Section of Radiation Oncology
Dr. Cathcart completed residency training at Saint Barnabas Medical
Center in New Jersey. He has a strong interest in stereotactic radiosurgery
and brachytherapy.
Dr. Andrei Holodny
Assistant Professor - Neuroradiology
Dr. Holodny completed his residency and fellowship at New York University
and then did a year of research at the University of Oslo in Norway. Dr.
Holodny's interests are diverse. He has done considerable work on the imaging
of lesions of the optic nerve and in functional MR Imaging.
Dr. Andrew Kalnin
Assistant Professor - Neuroradiology
Dr. Kalnin completed his residency in radiology followed by fellowship
training at New York University. He now serves as director of the Functional
Imaging Laboratory in addition to his responsibilities as a general neuroradiologist.
Dr. Wen-Chin Liu
Assistant Professor - Researcher
Dr. Liu received his undergraduate training in Taiwan and his MS and
Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Dr. Liu is a physicist
involved in investigations in functional MR.
Dr. Sosammana T. Methratta
Assistant Professor - Chief, Section of Pediatric Radiology
Dr. Methratta did her residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania,
followed by a fellowship in pediatric Radiology at St. Christopher's Hospital
for Children also in Philadelphia. She has led the development of pediatric
radiology in conjunction with the move of pediatrics from United Hospital
to University Hospital.
Dr. Satyaveni Rao
Assistant Professor - Neuroradiology
Dr. Rao completed her residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and did a
fellowship in neuroradiology and a later fellowship in magnetic resonance
imaging, both at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is interested
in all aspects of clinical neuroradiology.
Dr. Amy Singer
Assistant Professor - Body Imaging
Dr. Singer completed a residency in radiology at the Medical College
of Pennsylvania followed by a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Duke University
Medical Center, North Carolina. Her interests are focused in abdominal
radiology.
Dr. Constantinos Sofocleous
Assistant Professor - Interventional Radiology
Dr. Sofocleous joined UMDNJ in November 1999. He completed his radiology
residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital / Columbia University College
of Physicians and Surgeons, and fellowship training in vascular and interventional
radiology at New York University Medical Center. He received an RSNA research
resident/fellow award in 1998 and an RSNA Cardiovascular Research Trainee
Prize in 1997.
Dr. Samuel C. Wang
Assistant Professor - Chief Section of Nuclear Medicine
Dr. Wang completed a radiology residency at the Hospital of Saint Raphael,
New Haven, CT, followed by a second residency in nuclear medicine at the
Mallinkrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis. His current research interest
is nuclear medicine of the lungs.
Dr. Kristine M. Mosier
Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology Coterminous - Dental Radiologist
Dr. Mosier completed her residency in oral and maxillofacial radiology
at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine followed by
a graduate program at the same school in biomedical science. She is involved
in functional MR research.
Dr. Karen Burger
Clinical Assistant Professor - CT and General Radiology
Dr. Burger is a graduate of New Jersey Medical School, and completed
her residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. She has a long experience
in all phases of general radiology with a special concentration in CT.
Dr. Miriam David
Clinical Assistant Professor - Mammography and Pediatric Radiology
Dr. David completed her residency in radiology at New York Medical College
and was most recently in practice at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark.
Her interests are mammography and pediatric radiology.
Dr. Debra Green
Clinical Assistant Professor - General Radiology and Consultative
Services
Dr. Green completed her residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
For the past six years she has been in charge of the radiology consultation
service at East Orange V.A. Hospital, which consists of daily sessions
with the medical and surgical staff for the purpose of education and enhancement
of cost effective imaging. |
