LOCUM TENENS SERVICES
The University has contracted with twelve (12) agencies to provide Locum Tenens Services for UMDNJ, University-wide. The contract is Proposal #P11-075 through November 30, 2014.
The table below lists vendor name, address and contact information. To request services for your department, you must contact your campus Human Resource Department Generalist and Jennifer L. Havens at (732)235-9886 for additional contract information.
Generally, the University’s centralized Human Resources Department will be the point of contact through which all requests for locum tenens services will be placed on behalf of business units of the University. The exception is that UCHC will provide a separate point of contact for placement of services in the correctional facilities of the NJDOC and the JJC. Accordingly, the methods of engagement for each follow:
Method of Engagement for University-wide locum tenens services.
A representative of UMDNJ Human Resources Department will forward a request on behalf of a business unit for locum tenens services.
Within three (3) business days of receipt of the request, the Contractor shall submit to UMDNJ Human Resources resumes and references of at least three (3) potential candidates that have been pre-screened for review. Pre-screening by the Contractor shall be done to ensure that candidates meet the minimum criteria requirements of the position requested as detailed in the position descriptions. Human Resources will forward any CV’s it receives for locum tenens assignments to the Contractor for screening. Prescreening would include requirements similar to OIG (Office of Inspector General) and GSA (General Services Administration).
UMDNJ Human Resources will forward the information regarding the pre-screened candidates to the end user, business unit for interview and consideration.
In some instances, the Contractor(s) may be asked to meet with a department staff member to discuss the recruitment before a candidate is selected.
Engagement award criteria in addition to pricing will be considered as follows:
- Experience in performing the duties of the particular position requested.
- Compliance with State and Federal EEOC guideline
If the interview results in a recommendation for an applicant to be placed in the assignment, the end user business unit will generate a purchase requisition which will converted into a purchase order by UMDNJ’s Purchasing Department and provided to the Contractor. Only upon receipt of the approved Purchase Order may the Contractor specifically assign the applicant to the end user business unit for placement.
Method of Engagement for UCHC locum tenens services.
A representative of UCHC will contact the Contractor with information regarding the type of medical specialty and the specific location where locum tenens services are required.
The Contractor will provide a pool of up to three applicants for the assignment to be interviewed by UCHC personnel.
If the interview results in a recommendation for an applicant to be placed at the assignment, the applicant will provide additional information to UCHC sufficient for the NJDOC criminal background check to be completed.
If the criminal background check is clear, UCHC will generate a purchase requisition which will converted into a purchase order by UMDNJ’s Purchasing Department and provided to the Contractor. Only upon receipt of the approved Purchase Order may the Contractor specifically assign the applicant to UCHC for placement.
