Quality Improvement:
Based on verbal feedback and formal internship ratings by the previous
year’s intern group, aspects of the internship that could
benefit from structural or functional modification are discussed
by the Training Committee. One such area is designated to become
a Quality Improvement project for the incoming internship group.
The interns meet regularly under the supervision of Shula Minsky,
Ed.D, as a component of one of the intern seminars. Together, they
work to define and measure the problem, identify and implement programmatic
interventions, and assess and measure the impact. The design and
results of the project are ultimately presented at the annual UBHC
QI Fair.
In addition, most units, including those where interns do their
primary rotations, are involved in ongoing Quality Improvement activities.
Interns are able to participate in these QI activities also.
