University Behavioral HealthCare (UBHC) Piscataway, is a branch
of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as is
the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Department of Psychiatry.
Our core facilities are located adjacent to the Rutgers University
Busch Campus, in Piscataway New Jersey. The internship sites are
located within this compound, or in separate buildings in the surrounding
area. We are conveniently located approximately halfway between
New York City and Philadelphia, offering easy access to both. We
are also located adjacent to Rutgers University and about 30 minutes
from Princeton University.
Our multi-disciplinary professional staff is comprised of psychologists,
psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and mental health specialists.
Including support and administrative staff, there are over 1,000
employees. We offer a vast array of mental health and behavioral
health services, making extensive clinical training possible, while
also offering opportunities to develop skills in psychological assessment,
consultation, training and supervision. Clinical services are provided
across the life span, from infant to geriatric clients. The population
of Central New Jersey is amongst the most ethnically, culturally
and religiously diverse in the nation, and this is reflected in
our population base. We provide traditional inpatient, partial hospital,
outpatient and emergency services. We also have many specialized
programs such as school-based programs, forensic programs, Clinica
Latina, Dementia Diagnostic Clinic and Employee Assistance.
