The International Network on Personal Meaning [INPM] is a multi-disciplinary, primarily Web-based, grass-roots network of researchers, practitioners, students, and lay people interested in promoting health, spirituality and peace through research and applications of the transforming power of personal meaning. Several forces and trends are converging on the crying need for meaning and spirituality. Violence, conflict, addiction, depression, and suicide all reflect an existential vacuum and the need for a higher purpose beyond material prosperity.

INPM activities include:

  • Exchanging ideas on meaningful living through the Positive Living Forum
  • Promoting positive adolescent development, Meaningful Careers, Successful Aging, and Reflections on Meaning
  • Networking with individuals and institutes interested in meaning research and/or meaning-centered counseling and therapy
  • Organising workshops, symposia and conferences
  • Publishing original papers, monographs and conference proceedings
  • Publishing news items relevant to the quest for meaning

The aims of the multidisciplinary International Neuropsychiatric Association [INA] are to prevent or reduce the suffering of people with brain behavior disorders by increasing, integrating and disseminating the knowledge and understanding of the relationships between brain function and human behavior. This goal will be accomplished by providing a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas among professionals, both clinical and academic, with an interest in neuropsychiatric issues. This forum will include distribution of newsletters and booklets, the creation and maintenance of a neuropsychiatric website containing a variety of links, communication forums and related information, and assisting with publicizing and/or organizing international, regional and local meetings.

The International Nurses Society on Addictions [IntNSA] (formerly the National Nurses Society on Addictions [NNSA]) is a professional specialty organization founded in 1975 for nurses committed to the prevention, intervention, treatment, and management of addictive disorders including alcohol and other drug dependencies, nicotine dependencies, eating disorders, dual and multiple diagnosis, and process addictions such as gambling.

IntNSA's goal is to help nurses provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care for addicted patients and their families. NNSA has something to offer every nurse, regardless of their area of nursing practice. With the prevalence of addiction-related health consequences, IntNSA believes that all nurses must maintain a basic level of knowledge and skills in addictions.

The International Organization of Psychophysiology [IOP] was founded in 1982 and admitted to the United Nations as the only accredited world organization representing Psychophysiology in accordance with International law. IOP maintains relations with 2,122 institutions around the world and its membership comes from 49 countries.

The objectives of the IOP are to:

  • Act as the directing and coordinating international authority on psychophysiological research, training and practice

Formed in 1984, the International Psycho-Oncology Society [IPOS] was created to foster international multidisciplinary communication about clinical, educational and research issues that relate to the subspecialty of psycho-oncology. The Society seeks to provide leadership and development of standards for educational training and research in the two psychosocial dimensions of cancer: the response of patients, families and staff to cancer and its treatment at all stages, and the psychological, social and behavioral factors that influence tumor progression and survival.
