Welcome to the Department of Public Affairs at UMDNJ

UMDNJ, the nation's largest freestanding public health sciences university, is New Jersey's statewide system of health sciences education, biomedical research and health care. Founded in 1970 to consolidate New Jersey's health professions education, UMDNJ has become the very core of the State's health sciences system. With five campuses and a network of more than 200 affiliated health care and educational partners spanning the State, we touch the lives of almost every New Jerseyan every day.

The Department of Public Affairs is charged with oversight of the University’s external relations, specifically in the areas of Government Affairs, Community Affairs, News Service and Media Relations, and Marketing Communications.

The Department is headed by Julane Miller-Armbrister, Senior Vice President for Public Affairs.
