POSTDOCTORAL APPOINTEE BENEFITS

The University supports its Postdoctoral Appointees and believes they should be offered compensation, benefits and an academic environment commensurate with their training and abilities. These and related issues are addressed in the UMDNJ Policy for Postdoctoral Appointees. • Up to 15 days of sick leave per year.

  • One day accrued paid vacation per calendar month of appointment.
Up to six weeks new child leave (which includes vacation and sick time) with full pay.

  • Access to Mediation Services.

  • Membership in the New York Academy of Sciences without cost for the first year.

  • Eligibility to attend graduate courses at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences according to the following policy.

  • Leave of Absence: Postdoctoral Appointees who must interrupt their research studies temporarily may apply in writing to their mentor (PI) for an unpaid Leave of Absence (LOA). Approval is at the discretion of the mentor.
