POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN M. TUBERCULOSIS REGULATION OF HOST CELL mRNA PROCESSING
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the mechanisms by which Mycobacterium tuberculosis inhibits macrophage gene expression through effects on mRNA processing. The consequences for cellular response to interferon gamma are a particular focus. A recent Ph.D. with training in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology is required. Experience with mammalian cell culture and manipulation of gene expression is highly desirable. The project will involve working under Biosafety Level 3 containment. State of the art facilities are available at The Public Health Research Institute, a center of the UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School.
