POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN HCV-HOST PROTEIN INTERACTIONS AND REPLICATION MECHANISMS

Dept: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Function: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Neerja Kaushik-Basu, the candidate will investigate HCV REPLICATION AND INHIBITION MECHANISMS WITH REFERENCE TO ITS REPLICASE.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Molecular Virology and experience in the following areas:
- Protein Interaction and Purification studies: Over-expression using bacterial systems and mammalian expression systems, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, chromatographic separation using FPLC and HPLC, Co-imunoprecipitation assays
- Biochemical and Mechanistic Characterization of Proteins- involving primer extension assays, TCA precipitation, Inhibition studies, gel shift assays.
- Molecular biology- DNA isolation, expression vector design and construction, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, chromosomal gene deletion and insertion, yeast two-hybrid analysis, reporter gene analysis.
- Cell Culture techniques, RT-PCR, Immunofluorescense.
