POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH
Cationic Amino Acid Transport in Cardiac Muscle Cells.
The Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School is seeking a postdoctoral research candidate to study the electrophysiology of cationic amino acid transporters in cardiac myocytes with the goal of identifying and characterizing the membrane potential-dependent kinetics of these carrier proteins. The scientist who fills this position will join a laboratory of ion transport biophysicists who are interested in all quantitative aspects of mass transport through biological membranes. As such, the individual who fills this position must be able to work independently in an interdisciplinary environment.
Previous experience in patch-clamp techniques (whole-cell voltage clamp, current clamp, giant excised patches, two-electrode oocyte, single channel, etc.) is highly desired.
