POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN RADIATION ONCOLOGY
The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) / Radiation Oncology
The primary Purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to work under the direction of the principal investigator, the postdoctoral appointee will use various approaches of cell and molecular biology, protein biochemistry, or animal models to investigate the roles of pathway in DNA repair, cell cycle control and molecular etiology of cancer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Uses various approaches of cell and molecular biology, protein biochemistry, or animal models to investigate the roles of BRCA2 pathway in DNA repair, cell cycle control, and molecular etiology of cancer.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and ability to publish scientific research papers/ articles
- Understands and adheres to UMDNJ's compliance standards as they appear in UMDNJ's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and UMDNJ regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ph.D. with training in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, or other life/medical sciences related fields of study required. Prior experiences with protein biochemistry or animal models are highly preferred. Ph.D. degree with two years is preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills, to facilitate attendance at conferences and ability to publish scientific research papers/articles and reports. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint.
