POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN CHILD MALTREATMENT
Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship in Child Maltreatment. Excellent opportunity to accrue hours towards licensure. As part of a multidisciplinary team under the clinical direction of Esther Deblinger, Ph.D. and Melissa Runyon, Ph.D., responsibilities include conducting psychological evaluations of children involved in investigations of alleged abuse, providing individual and/or group therapy to victims of child physical and sexual abuse, and conducting mental health screenings for children entering foster care. The program also serves children who have been exposed to domestic violence and other violent crimes, as well as challenging populations including adolescents engaging in high-risk behaviors and parents who engage in punitive disciplining practices. Other opportunities may be available to assist in the implementation of research protocols. Appointment is a 12-month, full-time position with a variable start date. A doctoral degree in Psychology with child clinical experience is required.
The CARES (Child Abuse Research Education and Service) Institute, a joint program of the Department of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, has been designated by the State of New Jersey as a Regional Child Abuse Diagnostic and Treatment Center. The campus is located in the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately 8 miles from center city Philadelphia, 1 hour from the beach, 2 hours from New York City, and 3 hours from Washington, DC.
