Description: To commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, the NYC Health Department, Bureau of TB Control and the NJMS Global Tuberculosis Institute - Northeastern Regional Training and Medical Consultation Consortium are hosting the 2009 Annual TB Conference “NYC is Stopping TB” on Friday, March 20, 2009, 12:30pm-4:00pm at the New York University Kimmel Center located at 60 Washington Square South, 4th Floor, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium, New York, NY 10029. This year's conference will be tied into the 2009 World TB Day Theme “I Am Stopping TB” and will discuss changes to clinical services at NYC Health Department TB Chest Centers, recent developments in NYC's implementation of interferon-gamma release assays, anti-TB drugs currently in development and current TB concepts in infection control. In addition, the conference will address the ongoing challenges of TB transmission within a nontraditional community-based setting. Over 200 physicians, nurses and infection control practitioners are expected to attend this year's event. Registration deadline: Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
