NJMS Global Tuberculosis Institute (GTBI) web-based seminars are open to all participants in the United States. For in-person courses, GTBI prioritizes participants from the Northeast Region (Baltimore, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York City, New York State, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, DC), which is served by GTBI.

Effective TB Interviewing and Contact InvestigationHarrisburg, PA
This four-day, skills-building training is for health department staff are responsible for conducting TB contact investigations. Topics will include overview of contact investigation concepts, essentials of communication and interviewing skills, and congregate setting investigations. In addition to lectures, there will be multiple groups activities and practice interviews which include feedback from experienced facilitators. Cultural Competency Online CourseOnline Course
This online course will explore issues around providing culturally appropriate care for persons with tuberculosis. The course will define cultural competency, discuss the importance of cultural competency in tuberculosis care, and provide practical tips and resources for TB control programs. The course will utilize a variety of techniques that will allow participants to gain knowledge, share experiences, and learn from other participants. This multi-day comprehensive TB course for health care providers covers TB epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, laboratory methods, genotyping, contact investigation, case management, and various special topics. TB Intensive WorkshopNewark, NJ
This workshop for clinicians provides comprehensive information on the principles and application of TB diagnosis and treatment, as well as the management of TB in special populations. Topics will include transmission and pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment, infection control, drug resistance, TB-HIV co-infection, TB in children and adolescents, and key aspects of patient management. The four-day course utilizes a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, interactive discussions, small group work and case studies to enhance TB knowledge and clinical practice. This meeting is intended for physicians who are TB medical consultants for TB programs within the Northeast United States. Registration is by invitation only. Plenary sessions will explore current and emerging TB issues as well as the management of routine and complicated TB cases.
